Unhappy rtorrent reporting incorrect information

hey guys, im hoping im in the correct part of this site to be asking these questions so dont squash me plz if im in the wrong section. :P

icePiK = linux-noob.

im running the latest version of debian in vmware at home, and i ssh into it remotely from elsewhere. im trying to use rtorrent and its working ive set up the ~/.rtorrent.rc to the best of my ability not knowing much about linux or rtorrent itself. it appears to be giving me incorrect up/down rates in KiB/s. says that im only doin about 1.5 - 3 KiB/s when i know this to be false. ive never had this problem with rtorrent before and was wondering if anyone has had this problem before or if they know what the problem is.

rtorrent does what its sposed to, it's just annoying me not knowing my download speed. this isnt urgent. please any help would be appreciated.

thanks.
