RTLinux-3.2-pre2, Redhat Linux 7.3 and some problems

Hi all,

I have successfully installed RTLinux-3.2 on Redhat Linux 7.3. But I am not able to access my USB Flash Drive, No support for sound system and rtsock.o is not loaded. Can any one suggest what options should I select while compiling the kernels (both RTLinux and RH 7.3) so that my system will have the best possible configuration with as many services as possible. My machine is a pentium 4.

And I am also considering installing RTLinux on Fedora Core 3. The kernel is not getting compiled properly. Please suggest me the options for this configuration.

Thank u.

Kumar

Did you compile this kernel? If so, why did you not simply compile in support for those things?

As for other suggestions I'll just reproduce the relevant part of the ${RT_LINUX_SOURCE_PATH}/doc/Installation.txt file:
Code:
 5. Next, you need to configure the Linux kernel:

+ make config OR make menuconfig OR make xconfig

Enabling APM support is not recommended. APM BIOS calls may have
    unpredictable effect on real-time performance.

Disable local APIC support. This option is not supported in the
    free version of RTLinux.

On Alpha machines, you need to enable RTLinux Support
(CONFIG_RTLINUX). On i386 and PPC, this is done automatically.

Please make sure to specify the correct CPU type for the target
    machine.
Hope that helps.

Btw, unless you're desperately in need of a new feature in 3.2pre2 or are testing it, I'd recommend sticking with 3.1 stable.
