rtcw ET Sound problem.

Hey all,
I just got RTCW ET working on Mandrake 9.1 and also installed Quake 3 but the sound in rtcw ET is sort of choppy like sounds dont totaly play or starts close to the end also with Quake 3 the sounds really bad.
Also when rtcw ET loads there is like a buzzing sound through the speakers.
So anyone know how to fix this ?

are u using winex or native linux copy of Q3? i donno much about RTCWET so i donno how i can help u on that

I got the same with Quake 3.

Well its a windows version of Quake 3, so i downloaded the latest patch in linux format installed it then moved the files it needed from the cd to the dir.
