Unhappy RTAI Installation problems

I'm trying to install the latest rtai (24.1.6) real-time kernel add-on. I'm using the 2.4.9 kernel which the rtai is supposed so support.

I've got the kernel compiled and running with no real problems but I can't get the rtai code to compile. As there are no real interractions required with the rtai code I'm not sure what could be going wrong. The make basically bombs out saying that it has implicit declarations of functions like rt_printk(....).

I've gone through the following steps,
Clean load of rtai and 2.4.9 kernel
Patched the kernel with the rtai 2.4.9 patch
Configured and compiled the kernel (making sure that module versions is turned off, MTR is turned on, power management is turned off and RTHAL is turned on)
Compiled/Installed all modules
Run lilo
Rebooted machine
In rtai directory run ./use_intel
make (using /usr/src/linux as the kernel directory)
make all

When I attempt make all that is where the problem occurs. My best guess is that I haven't enabled/disabled the correct stuff in the kernel but I don't know what!

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance
