RT install error - gd.h no such file or directory

I am trying to install Request Tracker and am receiving this error:

gd.h no such file or directory.

gd-2.0.28-5.4E shows as being installed. Can someone clue me in as to what might be the problem.

System is RedHat 4.5 EL RT version is 3.6.5

Thanks,

Where is gd-2.0.28-5.4E installed ?.

look in the include directories to see if you can find the gd.h file yourself.

common places it could be

/include
/usr/include
/usr/local/include

If you cannot find it then its possible that the header is not included with the package you installed for gd. In that case you may need to install the devl packages for it.

Thanks,

I have run updatedb and locate and there is no gd.h on my system.

I found http://www.libgd.org , but the page indicates the development versions are obtained using CVS. Another can of worms open. Arggg! I am not familiar with CVS and am not sure what command to use to pull the devel files from that repository.
