[SOLVED] rsync to do full backups and incremental daily

Hey all, got a question for you all. How are you guys doing backups? I would like to use rsync to backup some filesystems and I am wondering how would one accomplish something like this. What I would like is to have a full system backup on Monday and then do incremental daily.

cron will achieve this for you. It allows you to specify a job by time and day.

I have scripts to do this sort of thing and yes, rsync is the tool I use to copy. I will say though that once you have established a full backup, the incremental keeps it up to date.

Hi, probably better if you have a look around first. Have a look at the man pages
