rsync to check two directories...?

I just burnt a large no. of things to a DVD, and Brasero complained of errors. How do I check whether all the files on the disc are the same as the ones on my HD?

THanks.

if you want to use rsync you could do it with the -n flag for a dry-run using local filesystem as source and DVD files as destination (so you don't accidentally nuke any files).

Otherwise, you might iterate over the local files and create a hash/checksum (md5sum, sha1sum, ...) and then check the hash/checksum against the files on the DVD.

I'm sure there are other ways too...

Code:
diff -rq /path/to/dir1 /path/to/dir2
This recurses, and only tells you that differences exist, not what they actually are
