rsync Bandwidth Cap?
I'm wondering if it is possible to impose a maximum transfer rate for rsync uploads. Ideally, I'd like to have an unlimited transfer rate from about midnight until 4AM and limit it for the rest of the day.
I've read that tools such as trickle exist, and rsync also has some sort of bandwidth-limiting option. But can you limit bandwidth based on time? |
You could probably use a cron job to adjust rsync's bandwidth limits at the appropriate times.

Any rsync experts out there? |
Ah, didn't realize that. I can't think of any way to change it on the fly, unless you have some sort of packet shaping software installed.
