Rosegarden-4-0.9.9

Ok, I complied/installed Rosegarden a few days ago.. and at first it ran.. but in one of the config menus it said 'MIDI Ok, no audio" so i searched around, and read something about Jackd, so i installed it, and i re-compiled/installed rosegarden so the configure script would pick it up... but now when i try to run Rosegarden it crashes right away.. when i run it from a console it says:

DCOP aborting call from 'anonymous-32336' to 'rosegarden'
ERROR: Communication problem with rosegarden, it probably crashed.

i'm using Mandrake 10, and have a SB Audidy.. any ideas?

oh, and i'm not sure if Jackd is running correctly.. when i run it as root with 'jackd -d alsa' i get the following:

jackd 0.99.0
Copyright 2001-2003 Paul Davis and others.
jackd comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions; see the file COPYING for details

loading driver ..
creating alsa driver ... hw:0|hw:0|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
control device hw:0
configuring for 48000Hz, period = 1024 frames, buffer = 2 periods
Couldn't open hw:0 for 32bit samples trying 24bit instead
Couldn't open hw:0 for 24bit samples trying 16bit instead
Couldn't open hw:0 for 32bit samples trying 24bit instead
Couldn't open hw:0 for 24bit samples trying 16bit instead

and then it just stays like that.

EDIT: After waiting awhile after running 'jackd -d alsa' and after getting the messages i mentioned, i get this:

**** alsa_pcm: xrun of at least 0.687 msecs
