Root-user shortcuts and thunderbird

Does anyone know how I can create a shortcut on my gnome desktop for mozilla-thunderbird as a root user?

create a launcher on the desktop that uses the command su -c thunderbird.
make sure the box "run in terminal" is checked.
when launching, a terminal window will pop up to prompt for a password.
you will then be presented with tbird as root.

cheers,
