root terminal issues
 

Dear all, I have a problem with root terminal, I installed compizconfig-settings-manager and network-manager-gnome and since I cannot activate them if I was not as root I started palying with the users and accounts utility, the thing is that I don't know what I did and after reboot, the gnome manager applet is there and connects me automatically just the way I wanted it to, but when ever I call on a root terminal, it asks me for root password and after I enter it, it closes automatically, plus the fact that I can't get compiz to work and AWN does not doit either because the screen is not being compozited by compiz, I don't want to have to reinstall lenny just because of this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having a bit of trouble following your question. Are you asking about root access, or is this an issue with compiz?
