right linux Distro
Hi,
I have been messing around with linux for a while, but i need some help on finding a good distrobution that is right for me. I have a Pentium 3 with 320 mb of RAM. I want a lgihtweight interface (lxde or enightenment or anything lighter) that looks like a Mac (ubuntu-ish, but not Ubuntu), and that can be installed easily. It needs to be able to get some of the ubuntu repos to if possible and have a simple command-line. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance PS: I need help to use VLC in firefox. |
Any possibility of upgrading your hardware? A good basic configuration (these are the minimum specs for Ubuntu but should be applicable to just about any distro):

With 320MB you could run the following, all recommended
Bodhi with Enlightenment WattOS (based on Ubuntu): the most configurable LXDE distro SalineOS, Salix, Vector Standard, or ZevenOS with Xfce See my reviews on this site. |
IT's a pentium 3 Katmai. would those distros work?

But some lightweight desktop environments work on it.
