I'm having a weird problem. I'm hoping that I ca get it fixed so that I can listen to all my MP3s.

I recently installed FC3 and since then, I couldnt get Rhythmbox (using Gstreamer backbone) to work. I tried installing the gstreamer-plugins-mp3 and some other gstreamer-plugins and still it wont work.

So, I wanted to give Gstreamer-Xine a try.

It can play all the songs that it can import (add to the playlist). But, it wont import certain mp3 files. When I try to import certain mp3 files, I get an error saying "Failed to collect information about the file.".

Has anyone of you faced the same problem? If so, were you able to fix it?

If not, is there an alternative to Rhythmbox with sumilar playlist features?.

I really used to love rhythmbox when I had FC2. Back then, it used to play flawlessly (even with gstreamer backbone) and I'm hoping I can get it to work with FC3.

I remember running into the same problem a while ago. Nowadays, whenever I get a problem with mp3s i use a tool called audacity to "re-create" them so to speak.
Basically, it reads the mp3 file and then you export it to a new file...after doing that I've never had a problem.
