I'm having this same problem with my Opera browser program and my RAV (antivirus) program. Previously in RH7.3 there was something called a KPackage manager...now in RH9 I have found something called Add/Remove that I think is the former KPackage manager (a Windows copy)...anyway, when I click on the rpm package for either program a dialog box appears briefly and it appears to be installing...but its flashes by so quickly that I cant see what is actually happening.

Using the file manager and the Find command I went looking for both programs and after almost 2 hours no luck...where are these programs installing or what is happening? I know the location of my anti-virus program from previous installs w/RH7.3...no such location exists now....please advise and thanks in advance for your reply.

yes, unfortunately, even though the add/remove is a great idea, it is rather glitchy being red ha's first installment

you are correct in that it is a upgrade from kpackage

i recommend using rpm -e filename and doing this the old fashioned way, if you are wanting to add a lot of packages from the cd, throw it in and reboot and pick upgrade and you can add packages that way a lot more safely.
