I was just recomending he buy winex3 with point2play, it would be easier for him since he is still new. Also, go to www.idsoftware.com/games/. They have the linux binarys to most of their games such as RTCW, DOOM, and Quake. You can find help there installing those games under linux.

forget it. i give up on Linux. ill wait for the rest of the world to catch up........which should be very soon.

Bad way of seeing it bro. Now that ive been using linux for the past 2 months i regret not using it earlier. But if all you wanna do is play games and not have to actually learn how to use a computer then play them on windows or better yet get an xbox and fill gates pockets with more of your money.

Don't give up on linux, it's ur friend....anyways, you can usually download, for free, the standalone linux server for most games (i know theres one for spearhead). have you ever heard of loki games? they used to buy contracts from games to make a linux port. they dont sell them from their site anymore but you can still find 'em.
