RH9 was installed just fine and worked for a week or two simmingly well, until I monkeyed with setting up an automatic login.
Now she boots up but when she calls for the GUI she loops. I get a brief moment of a
localhost logon:
and then she calls the FAILED GUI up which shows up as a garbled attempted GUI which soon goes back to a logon, localhost logon:
but I have no chance of entering anything before it returns to the failed GUI loop.
So how do I get out of this loop?
How do I get to a 'cmd prompt'? or a virtual terminal?
How do I fix this short of a new install?

do you have text consoles on <ctrl<alt><F1..6>?

Yeah but these did not respond.
I did a new install and I am on my way to enjoying my RedHat9 experience. I also know now that one of the joys of working with Linux and RedHat is that you learn something, you communicate and participate in a community and all of that is part of the Linux story.
Back to the drawing board. Back to square one.
