RH9.0 Desktop question
i am trying to change the settings on my monitor to 1024x768 or what have you and each time i try it says i have to logout and restart the xserver. My question is how do i restart the xserver? anyone?

you can hit Ctrl + Alt + Backspace (if your shortcuts are set up that way)

thanks. but even after i did what it said to do its still the same resolution. its on a laptop with an unprobed monitor. How do i find out what type of monitor I actually have running? so i can change it to teh actual model i have.

try to run XFdrake as root it should tell you all the info you're looking for.

i'm a newbie and i'm not exactly sure how to run XFdrake. I just typed it in a terminal and it said command not found. heh sorry for being a bother.

first 'su' to root, and make sure you type in caps XF and then lowercase drake like .... XFdrake... it should be in there...
