Question RH8 vs W2K

I'm a rank beginner newbie with an puzzler.

Have a newer machine my boss wanted setup with W2k / RH8 (Needed RH8 cuz we run some OLD Unix software ported to RH) each on separate drive. Done. Set-up small 5 gig vfat partition on C:. W2k REFUSES to see Linux files, Linux sees Win files just fine thank-you. Permissions are set properly, user name/pw same, and yes there is /mnt/ entry and fstab has been modified and is working. Anybody have any ideas????

Thanks ahead for your help.

W2K won't see Linux files, it doesn't or isn't setup to recognize non-windows partitions or formatted filesystems. Though I can't remember what the name of the program is called but have a search on the forum as its been mentioned before, a program that makes Linux partitions and filesystems readable from Windows.

See explore2fs at: http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm

It's a beta tool, so use with caution.

I actually bought this software when I needed my NTFS partition to back up to my ext3 parttition. Everything worked great, it just cost me 30 bucks. It will also mount ext2/3 from Win95/98/2000/XP in FAT32 or NTFS

http://www.ext2fs-anywhere.com/

By the way, they also make a tool for Linux to read and write to NTFS without danger. It just costs money. I guess for a business that would be a great thing.
