Question RH slow on new partition

i have a 30 g hd and i did a partition for redhat and is running to slow why ?

this is what i did

i have win XP on a 20 g partition at the beginning of the hd
then i did a 10 g partition for redhat /root and at the end of the hd i have /swap

i created this partitions manually, but it runs to slow..

I have another system that also runs redhat and it runs good. on this system i let redhat installation to create partitions automaticly.....and it works good.

Why should i do ? is it something i did wrong ?
