Restart consistently installing SUSE 10.1 apparently after kernal pakage install.

I've been having numerous problems installing SUSE 10.1 on a home built system with an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ on Chaintech 7NJL6 mobo, GeForce 5200 128mb by PNY, 1gig bargain memory (ultra i think).

Three times I left the room during the installation phase (it's kind of boring to stare at that screen) and when I came back I noticed the computer going through BIOS! At first I suspected my constantly crappy power supply but after letting it sit for around half an hour at the language selection screen of the installation process I decided that wasn't the culprit. Finally I watched the process (yawns) and saw that while installing the "SNMP Daemon" package directly following the kernel package it just restarts. I had been having freezing problems but decided to chance blaming that on a separate 20gb drive I assume must be bad, replacing it with the seagate, which i've heard are extremely reliable. It never made it to the second CD so I am assuming the problem is occurring in the same spot. If it is not, I am back to blaming hardware, but the windows installation is much longer (I forgot to use NTFS quick formatting) and went smoothly and I hadn't been dealing with any restarts prior to attempting to install, so I don't think it is that. It does however appear that my computer restarted sometime during the night, but my clock hasn't been reset since the power went out in May, so it may have been a small brownout.

I may attempt this again later today, but i wanted a computer to use last night so reverted to installing windows *tear*. For reference, the media check went well and I am installing from CDs I burned, the burner has never presented problems in the past but the blanks are a new batch and haven't been used for anything but audio.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated very much.
