Resolution Problems in certain Programs

Hi. I have RH 9 setup and everything is working well except a couple programs. Under KDE, if i hit help the browser to the right with the information comes up and the fonts are huge. The letters overlap and unreadable. I've tried to change my resolution setting but not sure if its that or a font problem. This problem is also occuring with Quanta Plus and OpenOffice. With other programs, I dont seem to have any problems. It does this even under Gnome.

Does anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this? Also, let me know if i need to provide some information on my configuration.

thanks in advance.

Any help with this? I'm reaching the end of my ropes. I've tried upgrading KDE..switching to Gnome but getting close to wanting to blow the whole thing up and maybe starting with a new distro.
