Resizing Xvid video

I have some videos which I want to put onto cd. However it wouldn't fit so I was wondering if there's software I could use to resize the resolution of the videos to reduce the fle size. It encoded as xvid with AC3 audio.

mencoder or any number of other video tools can do this, but of course be aware that you will lose quality on the reencode. just check the manpage for details of using it. it's not too friendly, but then you might like programs like my own acidrip to reencode it with.
