Resizing Partitions useing Parted/cfdisk/fdisk through Knoppix

I need to resize my main partition for SuSe 9.3 to make a 5G partition (planning on building myself a distro. Alot of work I know, people have told me, but nothing I've seen seems to fit me). Anyways, I've got a Knoppix LiveCD, and was looking through parted, cfdisk, and fdisk, and didn't see anything about resizing. I may be missing something here, so could someone give me a hand on this?

What kind of filesystem are you using? I've always used qtparted on Knoppix and I think it had an option for resizing... http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/imag...shot-002-a.jpg

But I seem to recall there was some sort of difficulty in resizing ext3 partitions. I think GParted has now incorporated the resize2fs command and can resize from the gui.

Reizer filesystem I think it is. Its the default of SuSe (on install I used the default setting, seeing as how I didn't, and still don't know alot, about partitioning), and I think its Reizer. Which one, I don't know. I'm on Windows right now (*cringe*), so I cann't tell what it is exactly.

I would try using the GParted Live CD which has a sole existence of partitioning hard disks. Here are the features, which include resizing reiserfs.

Be sure to back up any important data before you do any sort of resize.
