Rescue old emails from kmail
Dear all, hoping someone can help,
I have recently done a fresh install of my distro (from openSUSE 13.2 to tumbleweed) and now I'm struggling to get my emails viewable in kmail (kmail 4.14.6).
For the reinstall I copied my whole home directory to USB disk and then formatted the hard disk during the fresh install. Originally I copied all of the Akonadi and kmail/kmail2 files and folders from ~/.kde4/share/config and ~/.kde4/share/apps as well and the ~/.local/share akonadi, local-mail and .local-mail.directory files. After this kmail won't start with Akonadi errors (the dreaded "not registered at D-Bus").
So I then headed to existing forums that suggested all that was required was copying the ~/.local/share/local-mail and ~/.local/share/.local-mail.directory directories. So I tried that as a new user and kmail starts OK and I have *some* emails, but only a small portion of my original stash.
Can anybody tell me the definitive answer here?... exactly what needs to be copied across to restore all of my old emails?
Thanks in advance, Neil
