required package to mount vfat file system


Which package I should install in Gnome to be able to mount vfat?

I use openSUSE.

You don't need a single package to mount a vfat partition or device from a Gnome desktop. You need a correctly configured kernel (which you should have unless you played with it)and the following packages installed and configured correctly:

hald
udev
dbus
gnome-volume-manager

For partitions/drives you will need an entry in the /etc/fstab file.

You can search LinuxQuestions for more information about any of these.

For a simple mount command check for a package named something like "dosfstools".

solved

Sorry, I found the problem: the kernel was brought up to date and the external volumes did not mount. Of the errors is learned.

The original message error said: "Cannot mount the volume. The file system of volume is vfat..."
