Replacing Ads With My Own on Squid

Okay, here's the deal.
I'm offering free internet to the local area just because. However, I want to put some ads for my company so I get something out of it.
I figured I could use squid to replace ads on all website with my own ads. My ads would be located at www.xxxx.com/ads/, and I have figured out that I'll need an ad for every size.
Is what I'm trying to do possible?

Probably. But as someone who keeps a large website running only through the revenue earned from adverts I think you're a scumbag if you do it.

The previous reply made me do a little search, and although not too recent, these 2 came up and might give you an idea:

- How to block banner advertisements using squid
- Ad Zapping With Squid

Search the web using these words for more hits: squid replace adverts.

Sorry, but since I'm offering internet for free, I don't really have a choice.

You don't have to explain why you want/need to do this. Its not against the rules (in general and the LQ rules). TenTenths just posted his very personal opinion, in a rather rude way I might add.....

LQ is normally a lot "Newbie" friendlier then this.

Your reply adds nothing constructive to this thread and having an opinion does not automagically mean having to voice it in that way.

Wonder if using a hosts file pointing to your ads would do?

I think the rude comment ought to be edited out either by poster or admin.
