Question repairing tar files?

Is there a way to repair corrupt or incomplete .tar files?
I reall need what's in the archive and there seems to be no way i can extract the content That's pretty frustrating giving that I miss only a mere 5% of the file

Given that the 5% could come from any piece or pieces of the file, your not going to recover it. At least not usably. Unless its all text, in which case it would just be a mess of missing pieces
