Removing Print_To_PDF Application Error on VirtualBox WinXP running on Mint 20.2

I am using VirtualBox to run Win XP SP3 on my Linux Mint 20.2. I use Print_To_PDF which works well but eveytime I open Win XP it shows a failed to initialize application error which says click to terminate the app. I click and the message disappears and the software still works. I read on the Internet that installing NET Framework will solve this problem, but I cannot install NET Framework as the Win XP cannot connect to my internet. Is there a way I can download the software, or failing that a way to get rid of the irritating App Error message? Thanks

change networking to bridge mode and it'll connect to the internet. beware that doing this will put that VM at risk, because xp hasn't had any security patches in several years.

You can create an CD ISO and insert into the virtual optical drive if you dont have any networking configured.

This looks like an XP problem and not a Virtualbox or Mint problem. I used to use PDFcreator and not familiar with Print_to_PDF.

Yes, but I don't want to put XP at risk. Is there no other option? If not then I'll just carry on clicking OK to terminate the irritating message!

Thank you! I should have thought of that.

Another option with virtual box is to use a shared folder.

Shared folders requires the installation of guest additions.

On this point, its best to do this as Administrator in "safe mode". It will prompt you a few times about installing unsigned drivers, and you should click "continue anyway."

Then you'll have access to shared folders, screen resizing, mouse traversal, etc.

Thanks, it's all fixed now. I managed to install NET Framework v4 and that seems to have done the trick.
