Removing DVD title menus

I have most my DVD collection backed up on a portable hard drive. Every now and a again I have to re-burn a copy for some reason or another, mostly damage due to my son not putting them away like he should. Anyway, I use Devede to compile the dvd structure and K3b to burn it to disk. Call me simplistic or lazy but I like my movie to go right into the movie when its loaded. So my question is how do I remove the tile menus from my burned DVDs?

I have a DVD-RW that I burn to to make sure the picture and sound quality is good. I have tried many different settings in Devede, Especially in the menu options. I have yet to find the right one. However I am not sure I am looking in the right program let alone the places in the program.

Any insight to what I might be looking for or how to configure it to remove the menus?

K9Copy is great for this. You can cherry-pick any of the titles from the DVD and either keep the menu or not.

K9copy looks to be a great program for ripping but I alreay have them ripped into .AVI format. I tried to open a movie with the dvd author in k9 but the program crashes after I select the avi file. What steps do you use when making a DVD from an avi file?

Ok you didn't say you had them in avi format; you're right k9copy is no good for that. Try tovid.

tovid [-any tovid options you want here] -in FOO.AVI -out ./X && \
makexml ./X.mpg -out Y && \
makedvd -burn ./Y.xml

will convert to mpg, create dvdauthor xml with no menu and burn it to disc

In your opinion is Tovid better than Devede? Should I get the Tovid or the Tovid gui?
