removing all java from fedora 3
I'm looking for a way to remove all instances of java from my fedora 3.
Reason being, I downloaded the jre 1.5 one and later aftere still not able to get it right, I went into the /usr/java and deleted the file for the jre1'5 and then I also went into my /home and deleted the rpm and the other downloaded one.
later while trying to once again download and install it.
while installing it says it's already installed.
Well, when I look in the java file. It's not there.
when I look in the firefox 1.0 plugins... it's not there either.
So, I'm hoping there's a way to just delete all the java crap in here so it'll let me then sownload and install it again and hopefully get it right.
Thanks
Doug

There are a few things you could try....
yum remove jre
apt-get remove jre
or use synaptic which is a gui tool for apt-get
rpm -qa | grep jre
rpm -e jre-1.5.0-fcs ## or jre- what ever the previous line returns.

Hey Doug, where are you on your install now. Check back on your fedora forum post and lets go from there.
