Removing a directory

Hi All,

I'm pretty new at this ,, I want to remove a directory that contain tones of files in it on Linux 8.0 but I don't know the switch,,, rmdir does not work for me,, is says "Directory in not empty",,, that's so dumb that I can't remove a directory even if I want to,,

any help is appreciated

cheers

You should try "rm -rf ./directory_name".

If you do it on a command line:

~> rm -r directory_to_remove

The '-r' flag to rm is for recursive
