No, you need a boot loader so your system knows how or where to boot you system from. Though however you can edit how long this stays up and which is your default, that's if you have more than one OS your booting to.

Hi,
Is there a reason you want to remove the loader? say, are you cleaning off the hdd or trying to get rid of one of your OSes? If not, then no. The machine needs to have a way of knowing how to load the OS, and the bootloader does this. If you are used to windows, it has it as well, but works a bit differently. Let us know a few more details, and perhaps we can help

I don't know what is the reason to remove the boot loader from your PC! But if you have a M$-DOS startup disk, boot with that and type 'fdisk /mbr'. This will erase the MBR which will remove the boot loader. Beware, you can't restore it. Once removed, you will be booted into the active partition of your system provided you have some boot loaders installed on the Boot Record of the partition.

Not recommended that you unistall it, but you can make it not show you the screen and boot automatically into an OS. Or you can even change it's configuration file.
info grub
info lilo
