Remove and install startup Cups in Xubuntu 18.04

Good evening, I'll use the translator because I speak another language:

Before asking for help, if you want to know the reason for my request, it is reported in this topic and without solution: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...access_denied- print-4175637591 /

Well what I need is to downgrade or upgrade the native Cups from Xubuntu 18.04, I already have tar.gz from https://github.com/apple/cups/releases.

Even with update upgrade, Xubuntu remains with Cups in 2.2.7, not with the last of the site 2.3b5

Then I removed the Cups through # apt-get remove, and with purge, but checking for the browser, still remains with the same version, tried to install overhead but did not work even using --prefix.

I come to ask you, how do I permanently remove and install the version I want?

Please paste the output from the following command in CODE tags (see https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...g.php?b=36313):

Code:
dpkg -l *cups* | grep -v "^un"

Just a note that apt-get purge packagename is a simpler way of expressing it than apt-get remove packagename --purge.

Hi, it really worked, thank you very much.

You have a problem installing a version of the site, I used build essentials, then ./configure make make install, but the service is prevented from initializing, it only worked using apt-get install cups, but this way it returns the outdated cups (the one that comes native to Xubuntu)

I'm still trying, below is what happens when I use #service cups start:
#Jobs for cups.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
#See "systemctl status cups.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

In #systemctl status cups.service this is displayed:
#cups.service - SYSV: Startup/shutdown script for CUPS.
Load: loaded (/etc/init.d/cups; generated)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2018-09-26 22:19:46 -03; 15min ago
Docs: main:systemd-sysv-generator(8)
Process: 1247 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/cups start (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

So with the help of the friend above, I managed to remove it, and now I reinstalled using CUPS version 2.3b5, the result is this above, does anyone know what to do?
