Question Remotely managing Linux device from Ubuntu host

I am looking for inputs from Linux experts on the feasibility of the solution below:

We have an automation framework that runs on a Linux host. For testing android devices connected over USB, the host uses ADB to push/pull, restart, logcat etc to manage the device. We are looking to extend the similar functionality to Linux devices as well.

Ideally looking for a way to install ADB daemon on the Linux device, so I can continue using ADB. Is this possible?

If not, what are the alternate options? SSH/SCP?
