remote desktop scrambled
1 Attachment(s)
having this issue connecting to my fedora 17 machine with remote desktop. basically some windows look scrambled. anyone have any clues?

it almost looks like the distortion you would get, if you changed the refresh rate on a crt monitor that isn't supported.

this was working a month or two ago. i'm wondering if it's because of various updates (x11, graphics, kernel, new video card, etc)

new video card
you installed NEW hardware ??

yes that would cause problems if you did not also correctly install the driver for this unnamed card

a new kernel
depending on just what 3d card and waht driver
you might need to replace that

depending on just what 3d card and waht driver
you might need reconfigure xorg
but again without knowing what the hardware is ........

i just let fedora update itself via the software update GUI. i haven't done any driver/update manually (like compile and install a new kernel or graphics driver)

i installed a gtx 560. it uses the same driver as the old card, 9800 gtx+

current updated fedora 17 is using kernel 3.5.4-2 and nvidia driver 304.37
