Remote control

Hello,

i am trying to find some software that can bring the gui term to the client connecting. Kind of like terminal services, where you can see the gui and multiple users can remotely login. i have red hat 8.0. any ideas?

thanks,

Have you tried LTSP?

from what i read LTSP looks like it's for thin clients. what i want is to be able to telnet to my existing linux server, but instead of command line, be able to see a gui.

thanks

Are your intended clients too Linux based or are they Windows based?

You can use XDMCP on the Linux server (/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf), and X-Windows client on Windows.

If you are using Linux, you can use startx on a different vty ( not sure of the init syntax )

XWin32 is available from XStarnet??? There are a couple of other software too. This software will get you the Linux X Login Screen to your desktop.

Search Google for XWindows software. You should find some alternatives to XWin32.

But be sure to start XDMCP on your Linux server.
