Remapping fonts
 

Hi folks,

I'm having serious trouble getting a grip of fonts under SUSE. I need to remap some normaly installed fonts to some custom fonts, but not finding any entry points to get to the core of the problem.
After hours on the net i was just not able to get any good informations so I came here for further points of direction.

I'm using ghostscript and found the fonts directory but was not able to find a file where i can state that for example italic-bold is custom-italic-bold.

I know the desription is not very clear, but I'm merly looking for links to get my self deeper into fonts under linux.

Any, realy any help on this is greatly appreciated. LIke which directories are used for fonts storage and similar.

I finally managed to get a grip on the problem my self.

I was always looking into the fontsmap file in the ghostscript directory (usr/share/ghostscript). But the file needed was fontsmap.gz. Whatever
