Reinstall GRUB
I have a multiple operating systems and I use GRUB to switch between them (Windows XP, Windows 98, and Red Hat Linux)
I was having problems with Windows XP, so I reinstalled it, I knew it would screw with GRUB, but I thought the reinstallation would work, and give me access to software I could use to get GRUB back to normal.
The reinstallation of XP failed, and it still messed up GRUB, if it wasn't for my Linux boot disk, I'd be in a very bad place. I'm trying to get GRUB back up, so I can fully access Windows 98 (Which can help me fix XP), but GRUB has more problems than not being the active partition.
I used fdisk from the Linux terminal to make GRUB boot when I turn on my computer, but it wouldn't load when I restarted my computer. I tried to reinstall GRUB, (using install-grub from the terminal), it worked on some level, and although GRUB loads, it doesn't work properly.
GRUB's screen is distorted, but you can still make out the options. The big problem is I can't load Linux or Windows 98 from GRUB anymore (Windows XP loads, but as I said, it doesn't work).
I'm very frustrated, as nothing I do seems to help things, the funny thing is, I have several operating systems mainly so I can fix these kinds of problems if something goes wrong.
