reinstall from cd

i uninstalled mozilla 0.7 with the thought of rpm'ing the new 1.0 mozilla that i downloaded. the rpm won't install due to missing files.
can i reinstall the original mozilla 0.7 from my redhat 7.2 installation disk ? if i can do this, then i will try to rpm the 1.0.
how to i locate the mozilla 0.7 on 1 of the 2 cd's and reinstall it ?

as a last resort i can reinstall redhat 7.2 but would rather just reinstall the mozilla........i 've never reinstalled a program from the original cd

thanks,

ark

the RPMs should just be on one of the CDROMS in a directory called RPMs. At least it's that way with Mandrake. if not poke around, there be rpms there!

Second - why Mozilla won't install is beyond me. try just downloading and installing it from their web site. I think the installaition's pretty easy...or even get the tar.gz, open that up, and compile it.

What files does it say aren't there, btw?

actually, i downloaded the following file from the mozilla site:
mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.0-sea.tar.gz.tar and tried to gunzip it.
got a message that i can't fork a decompressor (this sounds like a motorcycle term).
i'm sort of familiar with tar and gz and tar.gz but i've not seen tar.gz.tar before so i could not get the file to open.
that's when i googled over to the redhat site for the rpm.

when i finish with yard work this pm i will make a list of the files required.

just use the rpms, and search for any dependencies by going to rpmfind.net

well...I am thinking that you probably added an extra .tar at the end of that file. if you go to download it from www.iesucks.com (another way to get to mozilla.com) then the file doesn't have that extra .tar - so cut it off and then try gunzip and tar. good luck.
