regarding installing debian on my pc


hi,
I am new to Debian. I installed 1st cd of debian success-fully. Now I dont have Internet connection So I somehow managed to copy all the .deb files that i need to install and put them in /var/cache/apt Now somebody told me that we can install the remaining part of debian using apt even without internet using this cache by setting selections smthing smthing could you plz tell me how to do that

If you use your CD at once you can run "apt-setup" then choose the CDrom option and follow the instructions. To install things you added to your /var/cache/apt I think you only have to run "apt-get install programname" to install it. Just make sure you have all the files you need in there or the CD added as source.
