Redundancy in start-up programs

I may just be nit-picky, but when I start RH9 using gnome, as the icons show up on the screen after logging in, I see two RedHat Network icons.

Is this normal? Or am I using some system resources unnecessarily?
How can I remove the double-usage of this application?

Thanks in advance to all the helpful contributors out there.

You mean you see two of the rhn applets down in the right hand corner of the screen? The one that tells you if you are up2date or not? You should only have one. For some reason you may have the rhn-applet-gui running twice.

Thanks for the reply, but it isn't in the bottom right of the screen where the up2date icon appears.

Right after your user name and password are requested, icons start appearing in the center before your trash, home directory, etc...appear.

If I am somehow running an application twice, how can I stop this?
