Redirecting output from XEV

As this application never returns (closes) I can't seem to get it to redirect it's output to a file

xev > /tmp/file.txt

does not work...try it. It will create the file, but with no text inside. Any other idea's much appreciated.

If your in the terminal window when you execute the application and nothing is returned to the terminal when the application closes, then there is no way to capture what is returned from the program unless you have some sort of API for that application.
