Redirect libgmp.so.3 to other files

Since I did something stupid today, so when I ran my program there showed an error message:

error while loading shared libraries: libgmp.so.3:

I remember that my colleague used some way to trick the program by redirecting the requiring for libgmp.so.3 to other similar files. Here are what I found in the system:

/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/openssl-1.0.0/engines/libgmp.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmp.a
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmp.so.10
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmpxx.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmpxx.so.4
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmpxx.a
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/openssl-1.0.0/engines/libgmp.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmpxx.so.4.2.5
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmp.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgmp.so.10.0.5

May someone tell me how to fix the problem? The system is Debian GNU/Linux 7 (aka "Wheezy") and I am quite new to Linux.

Sincerely
Meng-Chieh Ling

Redirect libgmp.so.3 to other files

Dirty way is to simlink so.3 to so.10 with ln - s

But you cannot track the change while updating and might cause further problems...

Redirect libgmp.so.3 to other files

When you will update the package you might break either your dirty workaround or another that uses the lib.
