redhat vs fedora
hi guys whats the difference between redhat and fedora? are they the same thing?
i have redhat 9 on my system right now but im looking for some input about whats better

RH 9 is dead -- there will be no RH 10 -- redhat merged with FC, and put all their technology and GUI utils into that project...
RH only updates enterprise versions and FC now

i just installed it cuz it was the lastest version i could find
so your saying that i should definitly go with fedora
aieght...do you have any suggestions as to where i could "aquire" a copy of it? preferably free

don't misunderstand... i know people that still run RH 7.3 -- it was a very common version... if RH 9 does it for you, stick it... if you're just piddeling around in linux, try the distros that interest you.
one more note: FC is billed as 'unstable' by RH -- it gets lots of updates, and new versions are always rolling out. this is not intended for mission-critical use, that's *i guess* part of some new marketing ploy to get people to purchase enterprise liscenses...
