RedHat read error on Acrobat PDF file

Help...

I have some target machines running Linux Red Hat v7.3 and 9.3 and the machines appear to be having a problem displaying the correct font when one Acrobat file is opened for a read operation. Display of incorrect font makes the text file essentially unreadable for user. This problem does not appear to be consistent with different PDF files on the same machines. All file were created with Acrobat Distiller version 4.05 - current version of Acrobat Distiller is 7.0, I think. Could the current Acrobat reader (4.05+) for Red Hat have compatiblity problems with an older version of a PDF file created with Distiller 4.05? Or, is there some language switch that needs to be set in OS?

thanks

ron

Hi,

I got exactly the same pb like you. I am investigating fonts, as I am suspecting that "ghostscript" does not have enough Type1 fonts to render the eventually refered fonts from the pdf file.
As i you print a pdf including ttf fonts without any chance for the viewer (ghostscript, or ps, or gv) to acces to the description of the fonts.
I would appreciate if anyone could confirm (or not), and could give some advice. This is painfull here...

thanks christophe
