Redhat 9 - IDE controller detection problem, hangs on startup

Hi All

I am in the process of installing Redhat 9 on a old Compaq 7790 laptop/docking-station combo, and I have problems with the integrated IDE controler in the docking station.

The laptop runs just fine stand-alone, but hangs on startup when inserted in the docking station. I can get it to boot by disabling PCI, which disables the integrated IDE controller in the docking station, but however also disables the NIC card that I need.

I had the laptop and docking station up and running on Redhat 7.2 some time ago, but can't get it to work on Redhat 9

Any tips or hints?

Best Regards
Jan Petersen
