REDHAT 9 DELL 8300 Nvidia GEFORCE card

I have installed Redhat linux 9 Shrike downloaded from linuxiso / redhat website.

I have a DELL 8300 with nvidia GEforce graphics card which doesnt support the GUI install . so I completed a text based installation. Later I downloaded nvidia drivers from the nvidia website and set up xwindows using xf86config. I have a DELL E 772C monitor ( both Geforce card and Dell E772 monitor is not part of the db in xf86config

however I modified the config file and managed to get the X server started but unfortunately all I get to see is a black screen with the mouse X which responds and nothing else.

I would appreciate any help to get my X windows up and working
