Red face RedHat 9.0 httpd can't start

Hi Experts, I need a help!!
Two questions
Where is the DocumentRoot for httpd in redhat 9? default is /var/www/html, but it is not. Because I tried to put my homepage there, but the "Test Page" will always be there when u try http://localhost. It looks like the documentroot is somewhere else, but I couldn't find it?

Second Question
The first time I installed Redhat 9.0, I could get httpd to start, and somehow it didn't work after a few days. So I formated the disk, and installed a fresh copy of redhat 9 agian. I couldn't start it even at the first time of running the httpd. It always giving me " httpd failed. The error was: Starting httpd: [FAILED] ".

So I thought I was a bug. I updated all the packages. It still didn't work?

Any idea what's wrong?

Thanks so much

Peter

All answers to your questions are in this file:

httpd.conf

You could have it here:

/etc/httpd/httpd.conf

But if you can't find it there, simply type this:

# find / -name "httpd.conf"

Good luck!
