Redhat 8 installation asking looking for scsi cdrom
Hi,
I am trying to install Redhat 8. I do not have any scsi or raid controllers or devices. The PC boots ok and the linux installation starts. I get prompted with graphical vs text install followed by language and keybord. Next I select Local CDROM to install from. All is good until this point where the device type prompt has SCSI as the only option. I have an EIDE Teac CD-540E drive. Should I not be able to choose between SCSI and Other? Hardware setup is: 2 80GB WD drives on PIDE (master and slave) 1 CDROM on SIDE (master) Can anyone help? Thanks, Markus |
you can solve the problem through different approaches, read the README file in the CDROM
First copy the CDROM as *iso* images in your windows partition(fat32),make a installation boot floppy and boot from the floppy. I don't know but maybe if you change the CDROM from master ,maybe it will work. Secondly, you can just give the boot message here. You can access the message by pressing ctrl+pgdn or ctrl+pgup while booting for installation (in which different hardwares are detected). Lastly ,are you sure that you don't require a device driver? |
