this is a 2 drive system - partition check hangs on second drive.
2nd drive is a Maxtor 4K060H3 ATA 60GB.
I've removed and added partitions - nothing changes.
Don't know what to try next.

I tried the GUI install for Red Hat 8.0 yesterday, same thing happened to me - I also have a 2 drive system but they're both Seagates - I don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

I was mucking around with Partition Magic recently and "hid" one of the partitions on the second drive...I wonder if that confuses it???

I tried a further three times, same thing happened again and again, so I just did the text install (type "linux text" or something like that at the install screen prompt), which was no problem and very easy as well...

you could use any of the boot options listed below:

linux nodma
linux hda=nodma hdb=nodma nodma
linux ide=nodma nodma
